Apex Peptides raid: what is confirmed and what isn't

Federal agents searched an address listed for Apex Peptides on 23 Sep 2026. No charges by 10 Oct. Which Apex sites are live, and what to do about an order.

QUICK ANSWER

On 23 September 2026 federal agents led by the US Postal Inspection Service searched 503 Prosperity Way in North Sioux City, South Dakota, and a home in Dakota Dunes, KTIV reported. The Better Business Bureau lists Apex Peptides at that address. By 10 October no agency had said what the investigation concerns, and we found no charges. apex-peptides.com, the one site with a reported tie to the address, showed only a login screen. Other stores using the Apex name have no public tie to it.

Status on 10 October 2026: federal agents searched the building the BBB lists for Apex Peptides on 23 September, local media reported. No charge, court filing or agency statement names the peptide business. The one Apex Peptides site with a reported tie to that address is not selling.

What to do: if you paid by credit card for an order that has not arrived, your dispute must reach the card issuer within 60 days of the first statement showing the charge (steps below). Do not treat another Apex-named store as the same business.

Was Apex Peptides raided?

Its BBB-listed address was searched, local media reported. Our account of the search comes from three outlets:

  • KTIV reported that on the morning of Wednesday 23 September 2026 "more than a dozen marked and unmarked law enforcement vehicles" were outside Apex Waste Management, 503 Prosperity Way, North Sioux City, South Dakota. It named the Postal Inspection Service as "leading the investigation", with the FBI, IRS Criminal Investigation, the Union County Sheriff's Office and North Sioux City police. Its crew saw papers, boxes and "one tote full of small packaged items" loaded into a U-Haul, and investigators left shortly after 4 p.m. KTIV also reported a search of a house in Dakota Dunes at the same time.
  • KSCJ reported on 24 September that a Postal Inspection Service spokesperson confirmed agents were "at multiple locations in the Sioux City area" and gave no details because "it is an active investigation".
  • KCAU reported on 24 September that the Apex Peptides website showed a temporary closure notice. We know that broadcast only through The Peptide Digest's summary.

Investigators have not mentioned the peptide business. The link to it runs through company records:

None of the reports we read says that a separate Apex Peptides facility was searched.

Third-party researchers report that the South Dakota company was first registered as Apex Peptides, LLC and later renamed Apex Research, LLC under the same business ID (Pepta Labs, 26 Sep). We could not open the registry detail pages, which sit behind a CAPTCHA, so we report that as their reading.

Has anyone been charged?

Not publicly, as of 10 October 2026.

  • The Postal Inspection Service gave KSCJ no details beyond calling it "an active investigation". KSCJ reported that the FBI had released nothing either.
  • A CourtListener search for "Apex Peptides" on 10 October returned no case, and a web search the same day found no Justice Department release naming any Apex business.

A search is not a charge. The government has not said what or whom the search concerns, and no warrant or affidavit is public. The FDA was not among the agencies KTIV listed, and checks of FDA's warning-letter index in late September found no letter to Apex Peptides (RUO Codes, 28 Sep). Reddit threads carried unsourced claims about what else the businesses sold and who was involved. We leave them out.

Is Apex Peptides closed?

It is not selling through the one site with a reported tie to its address. We loaded every Apex-named domain we found on 10 October 2026 and took registration dates from public RDAP records. We split them by what links them to the searched address, because a shared name proves nothing.

KCAU's 24 September report of a "temporarily closed" notice with all but one product removed, as summarised by The Peptide Digest, did not name the domain. The Peptide Digest found apex-peptides.com showing only a login page on 29 September.

For a buyer, this means no public record makes the stores still selling under an Apex name the business in the news, and none of them claims to be. We treat a same-name store as unrelated unless the original company says otherwise, the rule in our vendor closures tracker. Our guide to spotting aliased vendors covers the domain and certificate checks.

Do any lab records exist for Apex Peptides?

Not in our mirrors. Our Janoshik mirror (337 readable reports, 364 indexed, last crawled 30 June 2026) and our Kovera mirror (1,828 records, built 1 August 2026) hold no test with Apex Peptides as the client. The Janoshik mirror does hold three retatrutide tests for a client named "Apex Pharma.io"; nothing ties that name to the South Dakota company, and we do not treat it as an Apex Peptides record.

CompoundReview reported on 29 September that apex-peptides.com had published Freedom Diagnostics certificates searchable by lot before the site went behind a login. We have not seen those certificates. If you hold Apex vials, save any certificate you downloaded now, because a library hosted by the vendor disappears with its site. Then check it on the issuing lab's own site, using the method in how to verify a Janoshik COA.

How did Reddit react?

The first thread, posted the day of the search, argued about whether the peptide shop was involved at all and was later removed (r/Peptides). A second linked KTIV's report (r/Biohackers).

On 2 October a buyer six months into a retatrutide supply wrote that "as of the 24 of September they had gotten shut down" and asked "how do I know if a place is legit?" (r/Biohacking). Our vendor failure taxonomy lists the public-record signals that help answer it.

I have an open Apex order. What can I do?

Use the official dispute routes, in this order:

  1. Write to the seller once, and keep the email. The card rules below expect you to try the merchant first, and a dated message is your record. Use the contact details on your order confirmation, not an address from a site you found by searching the name.
  2. Credit card: file a billing-error dispute. The FTC lists goods "you didn't accept or weren't delivered as agreed" as a billing error, and your letter must reach the issuer "within 60 days after the first bill with the error was sent to you", at the billing-inquiries address (FTC). The CFPB says to call the issuer as well and keep copies (CFPB). An order paid in late August is already close to that window.
  3. Debit card, Zelle, ACH or crypto. The FTC's dispute process covers "credit cards and other types of revolving credit". Ask your bank what its own dispute policy allows. Crypto payments generally cannot be reversed.
  4. Report it. File at ReportFraud.ftc.gov if you paid and received nothing. If you think your parcel or payment is part of the investigation, the Postal Inspection Service takes reports at uspis.gov.

Our enforcement timeline covers earlier closures, including Chameleon's.

What would change this story?

Any of these, which we will add with dates when they appear:

  • An indictment, criminal complaint or plea filed in the District of South Dakota or the Northern District of Iowa naming an Apex business.
  • A Justice Department or Postal Inspection Service release.
  • A statement from the company, or a storefront that reopens on an original domain.
  • A civil suit or FDA warning letter naming Apex Peptides. CourtListener showed no case on 10 October.

What we read

KTIV's reports of 23 and 24 September 2026; KSCJ's report of 24 September; the Sioux City Journal's 25 September report (headline and summary); the BBB profile for Apex Peptides; third-party summaries from Pepta Labs, The Peptide Digest, CompoundReview and RUO Codes, each named where used; CourtListener, searched 10 October; RDAP registration records for five Apex-named domains; each domain as it loaded on 10 October; our Janoshik and Kovera mirrors; three Reddit threads; FTC and CFPB dispute guidance.

What we did not read

The KCAU broadcast itself. The South Dakota and Iowa registry detail records. Any search warrant, affidavit or inventory, none of which is public. The apex-peptides.com footer before it went behind a login. Any statement from the company, which we did not find.

Frequently asked

Was Apex Peptides raided?

Its listed address was searched. KTIV reported that on 23 September 2026 the Postal Inspection Service, FBI and IRS Criminal Investigation searched Apex Waste Management at 503 Prosperity Way, North Sioux City, the address the BBB lists for Apex Peptides. No agency has named Apex Peptides or said what the search was about.

Is Apex Peptides closed?

Not through the one site with a reported tie to its address. On 10 October 2026 apex-peptides.com showed only a login screen. KCAU reported a "temporarily closed" notice on the Apex Peptides website on 24 September, according to The Peptide Digest's summary. We found no company statement about reopening.

Has anyone from Apex Peptides been charged?

Not publicly, as of 10 October 2026. A Postal Inspection Service spokesperson told KSCJ it was "an active investigation" and gave no details, and the FBI released nothing. We searched CourtListener for "Apex Peptides" on 10 October and found no case, and we found no Justice Department release naming any Apex business.

Is Apex Peptides legit?

We cannot score it. Neither our Janoshik mirror nor our Kovera mirror holds a test under the Apex Peptides name, and its storefront is offline. Federal agents searched its listed address in an investigation no agency has described. We would not pay a vendor you cannot order from or verify.

Which website is the real Apex Peptides?

No public record settles it. Only apex-peptides.com has a reported tie to the searched address, through a third-party footer capture. The other Apex-named domains share the name only. apexpeptidesupply.com and apexpeptides.shop were selling on 10 October; we found nothing tying either to the South Dakota company, and neither claims to be it.

How do I get my money back from Apex Peptides?

If you paid by credit card for an order that never shipped, the federal billing-error process covers goods "not delivered as agreed." Your written dispute must reach the card issuer within 60 days of the first statement showing the charge. Debit, Zelle and crypto payments do not carry that right.
