Press kit.

vialaudit is an independent audit desk for the research-peptide market. We anonymously order from vendors, send samples to third-party HPLC-MS labs, mirror publicly-available test certificates, and publish what the data shows. Reporters covering 503A compounding, GLP-1 access, FDA enforcement, or supplement-quality issues are welcome to use anything on this page.

§ 01

The headline finding

Across 200 publicly-listed Janoshik Analytical lab tests submitted to vialaudit's mirror, the median purity is 99.7%. That figure understates the underlying problem rather than refuting it. Vendors decide which batches to publish. Failed lots are systematically excluded from the public listings — the public corpus is a curated best-of, not a representative sample.

The implication for buyers and regulators: the headline pass rate circulating in the niche (99%+) and the much lower 43% pass rate referenced in the only large-scale industry survey (Finnrick's 7,164-test review) are both correct. They measure different populations. A clean public-test record is a necessary signal of vendor quality, not a sufficient one.

Of the eight vendors vialaudit currently audits — five active, three shut down in the past 12 months — none appear in the Janoshik public listing under their own vendor identifiers, even when their suppliers do. The data the buyer can verify and the data the buyer wants to verify rarely overlap. That gap is what the audit cycle exists to close.

§ 03

Three quotable lines

“Most peptide vendor reviews online are sponsored placements dressed up as opinions. We built the alternative — a public dataset of vendor lab results plus the tools to query it. The first surprising finding is how much the public data systematically excludes.”
“The 99.7% median purity in our public-test mirror isn't evidence the market is clean. It's evidence vendors only publish the batches they expect to pass. Both can be true at once.”
“Buyers should treat any vendor COA as one input, not a verdict. The publishing decisions tell you more than the test result does.”

Public tools available to readers

All free, no signup, no ads. Reporters covering buyer-side stories can refer readers directly to these.

  • /tools/coa-verifier — paste a Janoshik or Ascension test ID, instantly cross-check it against the mirrored corpus. Catches edited certificates and wrong-batch substitutions.
  • /peptides-index — daily-refreshed cross-vendor pricing comparison across 5 active vendors and 8 compounds. Shows per-mg cost, in-stock flags, and last-walked timestamps.
  • /janoshik — public hub for the third-party-lab corpus. Aggregate purity stats, region distribution, top-tested compounds, FAQ.
  • /peptides/{compound} — per-compound guide with vendor purity leaderboard built from the public corpus.

Independence + methodology

vialaudit is editorially independent. Findings published on the site are not affected by affiliate relationships. The methodology page at vialaudit.com/methodology documents how audits are run, what disqualifies a vendor, the editorial firewall between revenue and findings, and the corrections process.

Some links on the site are cloaked affiliate redirects (/go/{vendor}) marked rel="sponsored nofollow". Pricing displayed in the index is the vendor's listed catalog price regardless of affiliate status. The full disclosure lives at vialaudit.com/disclosure.
